Well, I see that you still wanna hear from me about my story, then let's go right of this! Have fun!
My family consists of 6 people: my father, my mother, my sister (Lulu), me (Rod), my two brothers (Al and Aka). We all liked to gather arround in our home in new year's eve. Now, you maybe wonder, why do I use past tense? Hahaha... Okay, I'll answer it now for your satisfaction: because we live separatedly now (don't have negative thinking!). It's all because of official and studying demands. My father has to work in Kotamubagu (North Sulawesi), my mother has to work in Tobelo (North Moluccas), my sister and my two brothers have to study in Manado (North Sulawesi), and I also have to study in Jakarta. Now after you see the cause of it, let's continue about our family (ex-)tradition.
Our family new year's eve tradition was similar with our christmas' eve tradition. Before the day, we must cleaned up all of our house which was full of dust. In the day, we had a big dinner at 7.00 or 8.00 pm (my mom cooked many foods which were very delicious; she can be great cook!). After that we all waited for 12.o0 pm. All we did was watching television, since in new year's eve there were lots of good movies in television. Exact at 12.00 pm, we all had a prayer together. My father led this: we prayed to God, thanked for His goodness and blessings for us in recent past year and ask for blessings and leading in the coming year. We also read a part of scripture and had a reflection from that Words of God. Of course we all disturbed by the sound of firecrackers oustide our home from the children of our neighbors, but we still commited to have a prayer first before we go outside. And after that we all went outside to fire the firworks and firecrackers (sometimes we bought them so many) and shaked hands to greet Happy New Year to all the neighbors who was still woke up.
Then in the morning until the night, we visit our another families or friends, sometimes we just stayed in our home to wait for other people visiting us.
Now I remember that we didn't do this tradition anymore since 4 years ago. Before that we always gather because we all lived together in Manado. But after that, my dad and my mom and my brother had to move to Tobelo, and after that my dad moved again to Kotamubagu and my brother moved back to Manado, but my is mom still in Tobelo until now. And now, I am in Jakarta. So we live separately. This year, my dad, my mom, my sister, and my brothers still have a christmas together in Kotamubagu (they all gather again there), but I, of course, can't go there for this holiday.
Well, that's all. Do your regret your action to still read this? Well, you can blame me for that, because I have warned you about it! Hahaha... ;p
